Arsene Wenger have agreed a two-year extension to his Arsenal contract, BBC Sport understands.

The Arsenal manager and club owner, Stan Kroenke met on Monday to determine the Frenchman’s future, with the decision relayed to directors at a Tuesday board meeting.

After the FA cup final match against fellow Londoners, Chelsea, the rumor mill have been active suggesting that Mr Wenger will be giving a new contract at Arsenal.

Arsenal are planning to make an official announcement on Wednesday.

Arsenal, who came fifth last season, will now enter the Europa league, an unknown territory for the club, after more than two decades of Champions league football under their belt.

They finished 18 points behind champions Chelsea.

Mr Wenger will now pilot their campaign next season to win the Premier league or Europa league or both and still try to qualify them for Champions league football in two years.
